Emergence: Episode 3-”New Friends”

By Brett on 12-04-10 - Emergence,Featured

We’ve started getting some feedback on the series…some good, some okay. I appreciate everyone who has left us comments. The comments are what help us improve our work. We read each and every one of them and take any criticism seriously so that we can keep on improving.

Episode 3 has arrived and it is called “New Friends.” After Zach was saved by two unknown people, he learns a bit about who they are while they try and find food. The majority of the main characters will have been introduced by the end of the episode with a few more to arrive in the second half of the series.

In other news, the last episode of season 1 of The Walking Dead airs tomorrow on AMC. I hope you all will be watching it because I know we will! It’s been a great series so far, it’s nice to see some spotlight being given to the zombie culture :)

Great acting, good storyline, improving as episodes are shown. All Xtras are doing a great job in these films and that is very important to making a good series vs a great series. Might want to lighten up the scenes a little. Try not to have dead spots in the filming where nothing is happening at all. Keep the suspense going from one scene to another without too much of a no action spot. Brighten up some but not all of the scenes is only a suggestion. You are doing a wonderful job keep it going. These are just some things that I saw.

Thanks Mr. Campbell! And I agree…extras are key to making the film what it is, after all they do add life to sets.

We had some pretty great people all around…great to work with and they taught us a lot!

This is getting progressively better. I’m not sure if these episodes have already been edited but the thing the remember when filming is that AUDIO IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF THE FILMING PROCESS. There are points that you can’t hear the dialogue because your audio fluctuates and then it is so loud that a regular speaker on a computer will distort it. This is what the majority of your viewers will be waching it on. I’ve seen many great films that are ruined by bad audio. The acting is getting better and that helps but there’s still no edge. At the end of each episode, there has to be a reason to make viewers want to return. When you see “To Be Continued” you want your audience upset that they have to wait another week to see what happens. You also want to keep a schedule. It’s hard to develop a consistent following if you aren’t consistent as well. I’m still hanging on but it is mainly because I want to see the difference in filming in the second half that was filmed more recently. You have a lot of potential, but you need to get your basics down first.
