Zombie Question of the Week #4

By Brett on 08-22-10 - Emergence,ZQOTW

This was a much better week. I enjoyed the responses this time around. The whole cast and crew did.

I have some quick news to share before we get into this week’s ZQOTW. We’ve wrapped up the production of Emergence: Episodes as of today. That means there is a light at the end of the tunnel! I’ve also submitted us to IMDB so we’ll see if they accept it. They should, if not then they’re missing out on a sweet movie. Keep checking out Facebook as we’ll continue posting pictures of the various shoots!

Now back to the important stuff. Zombies.

Last week we asked “What is a zombie?” We had a lot of good responses. One that gave us a good laugh was from Mark Jensen, our composer, who said that zombies aren’t real but are a conspiracy created by the government to look for oil. This was funny but ultimately the winner goes to Sloan Scott. She had a very detailed response about her thought on the zombie and we appreciated how in-depth it was:

A zombie is a once living creature that has been affected with some sort of disease or parasite or accident causing It’s heart to stop so its technically “dead” but this disease, parasite, etc. does something to keep the brain active though the person with in the body is no longer present. Much like an animal the only things working in the brain are the instincts and the things needed to survive. No emotions or memories are present. The instincts are amped up causing rage while this disease, parasite, etc. tells the brain to pump adrenaline through the body causing speed and strength. The parasite, disease, etc. needs the nutrients in the blood and flesh of another to live, so using the body as a vessel it gets what it needs.

She has definitely see her fair share of zombie movies. Which brings me to this week’s question!

What is the best zombie movie of all time and why?

I’m hoping for some pretty good debates on this one. Everyone has a different thought on the “perfect” zombie film. I’ll tell you ours after the week is over. We don’t want to make anything biased!
